This is a 1:72 multi-media model of the Project Pluto “Doomsday” missile project the Air Force had under development between 1957 and 1967.  Pluto was an atomic-powered cruise missile equipped with up to two dozen nuclear warheads.  Launched from a rail car, it could fly for days or even weeks, lobbing nukes at targets throughout the Soviet Union while tearing up ground structures with its supersonic shockwave and leaving a trail of lethal radioactive exhaust in its wake.
