This is the second full sized Falcon Cockpit Greg and his guys have built… this time for the full sized Falcon herself!

Happy New Year! Long time no update…

Just thought I would send a few photos of the updated Full Scale Falcon Project. In short, the team was invited to display the project at the Huntsville Space & Rocket Center during the premiere of EP VII. With only 4 weeks until the premiere, long and sleepless nights were spent getting the cockpit wired up with the 1200+ LEDs and sounds. At one point there were 20+ people working on the cockpit panels to get her ready for the big reveal! We were even able to get the cockpit entrance finished up and painted.

Although having to scratch several tasks from the list, the canopy and the exterior skin, what the team was able to pull together in short notice is nothing less than spectacular! Our goal… a screen accurate representation of the Empire Strikes Back cockpit! After spending the last 48 hours putting everything back together just before the premiere of EP VII, the doors were opened to eager fans of all ages. We were even able to secure several high quality fan made costumes to add to the experience. And despite our exhaustion that first weekend, the response was overwhelming! The looks on people’s faces and their high energy carried us through until we could all finally get some much needed rest.

We’re on our way back to the garage where the build will continue. We hope to get the canopy and skin finally realized along with a few other goodies and surprises.

A huge thank you to the entire team, the Space & Rocket Center for the generous hospitality and of course all the fans and followers who came out to meet, greet and support the project. : )
