Antenocitis Workshop Spider Turret (or Bot) by Third Fate Creations STEVE HUGHES

Steve Hughes comes to us again with another magnificent creation! This artist has a fantastic identity with his use of paints, and style! I love this!

When I saw this model for the first time I almost dismissed it as it was so smooth and I thought featureless. But then I realized if the smooth panels were crystalline ceramic then it would be an extremely durable high tech tactical spider drone. Sporting an alumina based crystalline armor (blue sapphire) for a fraction of the weight of steel it can shed rounds of all but the hardest, highest energy projectiles. Its primary weakness though is directed energy microwaves or infrared lasers which can bypass the crystalline armor and attack the vital innards. However, weapons this powerful are unlikely to be wielded by anything less than stationary turrets or tanks, which the spider drone can likely outmaneuver to place a few critical shots.

So after about a year of playing with ideas on how to pull off such a paint job we have this. 100% airbrushed with a variety of stencils and a lot of layering. Perfect for blowing those cyber punk hackers away while they are cracking the corporate security… assuming they aren’t smart enough to hack it first. I also added a switch blade in the claw for times when the director orders an up-close and very personal execution of the offender.
