These amazing and talented group of artists from South American Models always amaze me with their works. This one, the Gotham City Viaduct, was made by the S.A.M. founder Ricardo Martinez Sr. for a commercial spot for a local oil company down in Buenos Aries.
Here is what South Amercian Models has to say…
Here is the “Gotham City viaduct” made in HO scale (1/87). The photos include making, finishing and studio shooting the piece for the final art.
This bridge was made around the year 1997, when the “Batman & Robin” movie was in theaters.
The local oil company “YPF” was giving away batman trading cars with each purchase of oil, so YPF commissioned a TV commercial to this purpose. In the TV spot you were able to see the city of Buenos Aires being Frozen by Mr. Freeze.
This was a local studio shoot, related to the Gotham City look and style, we have nothing to do in the making of the actual movie.
The artist responsible in making this piece is my Ricardo Martinez Senior, who was the only one member of the SAM staff 14 years ago……..
