I can finally announce The Big Secret: I’m part of the Smithsonian’s Special Advisory Committee on the restoration of the original 11-ft model of the Starship Enterprise. The old girl is going to undergo some structural and cosmetic surgery so she’ll be around for another 50 years (at least). Here’s a link to NASM’s official announcement:
