“Hello! I’m Csaba Bojthe from Hungary and I’d like to represent my scale model finished this year. One of my favorite vehicle in Return of the Jedi is AT-ST walker as I really love its shape and its gripping movement. I started this project a very long time ago – there were rather few pictures at that time so I had to wait. So I’d like to thank you very much as I was able to finish this model due to your website.
The model is made of styrol plates with vacuum forming technology in part. Every small part was cut out and shaped of styrol plates.
Before I start building a scale model, I create a sketch made of paper. Thanks to this method, I can see its adequate proportions. I’ve always wanted the model to move to a certain extent. Arising from its size, it’s impossible to stand on its feet without a stable metal frame and it’s not able to move such like the original stop-motion ILM model.
This scale model is 42 cm (16.5 inch) high. The cabin (or cockpit) can be moved to left and right. The sensor on its left side, the light blaster cannon on the right and the twin blaster cannons at the front of the cabin can be moved vertically. The front openings (or windows) and the upper door for the driver can be opened as well. The legs of the model can be moved, too but in a limited way. Because of this capability, it’s more exciting to display it for the public.
